Serie B promotion chasers Genoa have made Middlesbrough striker Mark Viduka an £8 million offer to move to Italy in July. Australian international Viduka, 31, will be a free agent in the summer as he is yet to sign a new deal at the Riverside Stadium, but is understood to be undecided about his future at the moment. Viduka's agent Steve Kutner told The Sun newspaper: "Mark has had a very good offer from Italy but we are still talking to Boro and we expect a decision in the next couple of weeks." But Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is willing to give the big hitman as much time as he needs to mull over his future. Southgate, who is confident about keeping Viduka at the club, said: "Talks are ongoing and Mark is having a think about things. I am very relaxed about it. He knows my position on it and I respect the fact that he wants time to think about things." Since joining Middlesbrough from Leeds United in August 2004, Viduka has scored 37 goals in 97 appearances and represented his country at last year's World Cup in Germany.
